It's Five o'clock Somewhere

Say Hello to the class of 2008!!!! Going into our third semester of nursing school we were all very excited to finally catch a break and have a little bit of fun... boy did we ever have a rude awakening. This semester was anything but fun and easy. We lost several very close to us, studied harder than we ever have, spent many sleepless nights and cranky days together, but together we pulled one another through!!!! Nursing school has been an experience of a lifetime. And not one I ever want to repeatI have made some amazing friends! We have laughed together, cried together and learned the unimaginable about one another. We have been very lucky. Our class is incredibly close. I can't imagine going through the hell that we do without the support of one another. Many classes become competative towards one another at the end... Instead we help pull one another through

We are all more than willing to go out
of our way to help one another. At
our very first orientation they made
us turn and introduce ourselves to
everyone around us. Then they said
this will be your replacement family
until you are finished. I didn't believe
them, but the truth of the matter is
they have become my family away
from my family!!!!!!

Mikie came out to celebrate with us!!! I am so lucky to have such a supportive husband!!!!! He never
loses his cool when I have to study nor does he complain that the house is filthy and the laundry is never done. He comes home after a long day and is more than willing to cook dinner if I got something out....and if I didn't he never complains it is grilled cheese again!!!! I don't think I could handle this without him. He deserved to party every bit as much as I did. Thanks for Always being there babe I couldn't do this without you!!!!

Black Friday

The girl's in Mikie's family have this tradition of getting up the day after thanksgiving and hitting all of the early morning sales. I have been fortunate to have this experience with them on severeal occasions. It is always an adventure. Niccole and Andrea seem to be starting earlier and earlier every year. This year they started at 4am. I stop for the starbucks and pick up mikie's mom about 6am and we meet the other two wherever they are. This year Aunt Reta came down to join in the fun. Chelsea was allowed to go for the first year ever and Andrea's friend Melissa also joined us. The night before is always setting up our plan of attack. We decide what we are getting, and from where. Drea and Niccole are usually ones that attack the electronics sections for the bigger items we may need. We split into groups and grab different items for whomever, we meet at the register divide the items pay load the car or cars then head to mike and debi's to drop off the first load. Some years we make more than one trip to unload and head out again. We usually battle the crowds until 11:00 or so then head off to lunch. This is generally when the drauma of the day begins. Bad waiters or waitresses, rude people, horrible hostessess etc. the list goes on and on. It is alot of fun though, and hey I am almost completely done christmas shopping this year and its not even December yet!!!!! Now if I can just get it all wrapped and sent off we will be in great shape.!!!!

Happy Turkey Day

So I am really horrible at getting my camera out and taking pictures at family functions, but as Kylie was sitting there so cute waiting for dinner I snapped a quick shot of her. We had a fabulous thanksgiving this year with Mikie's family. The girls spend all day in the kitchen preparing the food while the boys give us a ration of crap and tell us we are screwing it all up!!!! However, despite all of the mistakes that we apparently make in preparing this feast, they delightfully stuff themselves to the point of misery!!! In between all of the cooking we make sure to check the sales adds in the paper, In preparation for the black friday shopping extravaganza. I am very blessed to have such amazing in-laws. Even without my family around I feel right at home. This is my favorite time of the year despite all of the hustle and bustle. Its even beginning to finally feel like fall out there now. I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to come.

I've Been Tagged

The rules:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I love Football. Footbal has always been my favorite sport. I love to play it touch or tackle doesn't matter and yes I throw the football like a girl, but I am a girl so in the end it all works out. My favorite team has always been the cowboys, however since I got married and started nursing school I couldn't even tell you any of the players names. My husbnad thinks its weird when he comes home and I have a football game on TV, but I love it.

2. I want to go skydiving! This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time, but have never had the opportunity. I can't imagine what a rush it would be. We only live once and might as well make an adventue of it. Lifes way to short to play it safe.

3. I am a texture person. I have the most sensitive texture gag reflex when it comes to food. I can't eat any cooked veggies without gagging, The thought of soggy bread makes me want to vomit, and any kind of beans are a no go!!! I did vomit those up on my babysitters table at a very young age.

4. I am totally baby hungry. I want to be a mom more than anything. I have been working in the Nursery and Labor and Delivey this sesmester it has been pure torture. I can't wait to have kids of my own.

5. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love the smells, the lights, the time with family and watching the excitement of the little kids. It such a peaceful time of the year. I love it. I can't wait to get out all of my decorations.

6. I love to sing at the top of my lungs when I am all by myself!!!! I swear I can make myself sound as good as the person on the radio LOL. It is really embarrassing when I get busted though. I've been busted on more than one occassion.

Okay so this is sad, but I only have one person to tag, everyone else on my list has already been tagged so I tag Andrea

It only took him 4 and a half hours!!!!

Hunting for a week and my husband kills his deer in the first 4 and a half hours of there trip. So now I get to swallow my pride and apologize for being the dream crushing wife that I am and take back my statement regarding the only thing they were going to get was Bambi. His deer is a five point on one side and a four point on the other. They will still be gone the rest of the week. His dad still has a license to kill then they are elk hunting with friends at the end of their trip. Good luck to my father-in-law!!! I personally don't understand the whole hunting thing, but boys will be boys!!!!! and hey killing things makes them happy people to be around and live with so that in turn makes everybody happy!

Childhood Memories

We recently had a family thing that made all of us dig for some old pictures. My aunt put all of the pictures that we compilied onto a disc so we all had them. When I looked at them today I found some old pictures of my brother Kaysen and I they range from birth to about 4 years old. I thought they would be fun to share. My brother and I were inseprable when we were younger. These pictures are of me swapping a pacifier with my brother.... His always tasted better, our first bikes, our first fishing trip that I can remember..... Howerver I was not to enthused about fishing.... at least it doesn't appear so in the picture. If I remember right though my brother caught his first fish that day. I was always more concerned about how much it hurt the fish. The rest are just some random pictures of us that I have always loved. How the time has flown. I love the childhood memories I have of my brother and I and will cherish them always!!!

Flying Solo

So It's been a while since I posted anything!!! Life has been kind of hectic around here. School is kicking my ass, but I think it has finally slowed down for the semester. I am done with my peds hospital rotation and have community the rest of the semester. I drew the short straw for my community rotation and don't get to do anything cool like go to surgery, instead I get to go babysit at headstart and wipe little boogery noses all day!!!!! Gotta love my life. Mikie and his dad are leaving to go hunting on Tuesday and are both so excited the can hardly stand it. As for me I will be having a very quiet week at home alone. I am going with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law for some down time at the spa while the boys are gone. I am so excited for that I can hardly wait!!!!! Mikie of coarse is super busy at work and has lots to do before he can leave town, Like always they have major projects due right after he leaves. Don't know what they would do without him at work. He should be getting his PE stamp sometime in November!!!! So that is exciting news for us. I am also doing Labor and delivery clinicals right now and I love it. Such a cool rotation. However, I think I have decided that when I am done with school and officially a nurse (provided I don't have a nervous breakdown before then) I want to work in the NICU. Oh and because all of my little sisters always ask Cinnamon and Smokey are doing just fine (our dogs). Smokey (my baby boy) has severe attachment issues to a stuffed frog that I am not to sure how to handle, and Cinnamon has decided that her bed is mikie's pillow I guess a king sized bed was not the answer to the space problem. They don't get to sleep with us anymore because nobody gets any sleep. However, they will be very sad when mikie comes home from hunting and they have to return to their cages at night!!!!!!!! Wish the boys luck and hope they get their trophy deer. I am a dream crushing wife and daughter-in-law cause I already told them they won't find what they are looking for!!!!!! Mikie showed me a picture of what they were hoping to get, I have never even seen another picture let alone an actual deer as big as the one they were showing me. Boys will be boys hopefully they will find one that will at least satisfy their need to kill something!!!!!

Girls Night Out

Flor Turned 24 on Saturday! We all agreed that as nursing students we should go out more often to relieve the stress from school. We had a blast. It has been a long time since I stayed out till almost 4 o'clock in the morning. I think I am still paying for it!!!!!! It was a little rough to get up for clinicals at 4:30 this morning, but even though I am exhausted it was totally worth it!!!!

Crappy Day

So I walked out of school yesterday morning to find that some Jackass had smacked into my car! Of course they didn't leave a note or anything. Just my freaking luck I guess!!!! People are such inconsiderate Jerks. Totally frustrated and annoyed. Guess I will be taking it to the shop to get it fixed hopefully sometime next week!

Back to the Grind

Well, school has started once again. I am so excited I only have two semesters left. Count down to graduation Yay!!!! So far I am loving my classes. I got to experience the NICU the other day and completely fell in love with it. I called Mikie when I got home and told him this semester was going to torture me to death being that I am incredibly baby hungry. Mikie finished his Application to get his PE stamp so hopefully we will be hearing back on that before to long. Deer Season is just around the corner so Mikie and his dad are getting pumped for that and I think while they are gone the girls are going to go for some spa time!!!! I will definantly be ready for it come the end of October.

August Camping at Timbercreek

On August 09, 2007 we left the hustle and bustle of the city and headed for the mountains for a little relief from the heat. Almost the whole clan went with the exception of Andrea and Toby. They had plans to leave town the following weekend. We missed them but we had a great time. Of course there was alterior motive for the trip. Mikie and his dad both got deer tags in the area for this winter so it was a necessity to scout out the wildlife!!!! We discovered kylie has great eyes when picking them out of the trees!!!

Kylie's Driving Look out

Kylie got a new four wheeler for her birthday in July and she finally got a chance to ride it. She is a crazy driver and like her uncle and grandpa would rather watch for wildlife in the trees than the rode. Aunt Dorothy got on with her, but much to our surprise she was a little more cautious with her. She only met the trees once though and luckily her and her "baby" as she refers to the bike are both okay!!!

Camping Princess'

The girls went hiking complete with make-up and their ipods. Oh to be teenagers!!!! They wanted their names in a tree so Grandpa did it for them on the way down the mountain!

Just the Two of Us

We have a tree too!!!! Picture perfect. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband! I know I know the family all says gag me!!!
