First Trip To Ely, Nevada

For the 4th of July we headed to Ely to spend some time with mikie's family. Trystan no longer likes to get in the car and sleep the whole way instead we listened to his voice get progressively louder and louder until he was having a full blown melt down because he HATES his car seat. He did sleep half of the way though. We had a great time. Friday night we had a birthday dinner for Aunt Reta who is 75 today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT RETA. The weather was beautiful. it was about 75 degrees with thunder storms and rain off and on. I love THUNDERSTORMS and so miss the incredible ones we had in St. Louis. Trystan layed on a blanket and played with his toys outside. He got into the grass a couple of times and wasn't too sure what to think of it. He sure enjoyed pulling it out though. The poor kid was so done being the HOT POTATO. Saturday morning we missed most of the parade because Trystan was extremely grouchy and decided a 2 1/2 hour morning nap was in his favor. Mommy and Daddy agreed. However we caught about the last 15 minutes of the parade and Trystan was fascinated by all the people and the horses. After the parade we went back to uncle Doug and Aunt Dorothy's for a fabulous dinner. Then we began Kwanza for my Neice Kylie who turned 9 yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLIE.After cake we took all the kids swimming. Trystan LOVED the POOL this time. It was much warmer than the last time we took him swimming. He laughed and smiled the whole time. He found it fascinating and funny when mikie or I would disappear under water and pop back up. I full on dunked him in the water, and he just gave me an unsure look. He kicked his legs and splashed with his arms. I think he will be our little FISHY and I wish now we had a pool. Maybe one day.
After swimming we showered and went to Aunt Reta's for the firework show that lasted well over an hour with long breaks between individual fireworks. The kids did sparklers and had a great time! Little man was exhausted and passed out on the floor.
Trystan slept most of the way home. He was so excited when I layed him in his bed yesterday afternoon and was grateful to have just mommy and daddy back. For the first time in a couple of months the kid slept from 10:00 last night until 5:00 this morning. It was Heaven. Poor kid was completly worn out.
