Family Pictures

On Sunday we finally went and had actual pictures of Trystan taken as well as a family picture. I was happy with the way they turned out! Trystan is a little flirt and was so good. When we got there he was a little grumpy so I thought we were going to have a hard time getting some good pictures. Boy was I wrong!!!! Here they are.

Are you Freaking Kidding Me?

So we have had a fun week at our house. On Friday night mikie and I were doing dishes and I went to put one of our knives away and there was a freakin scorpian crawling on my knife block!!! This is the third one we have found in our house. We found one the night we brought Trystan home from the hospital it was crawling across our kitchen floor. The other one was about a year ago in our spare bathroom. We also have found two in the garage. Now they have always scared me, but I am terrified now that I have a little one who loves to play on the floor!!! I called our bug guys and of coarse scorpians are not something you can actually get rid of, they can try to control them but the little devils don't die easily. I have a couple of black light flashlights on order so we can go scorpian hunting at night, and we have put glass dishes around the posts of Trystan's crib because they can't crawl up glass!! Needless to say my anxiety level is sky high! Trystan is growing so fast and I am enjoying every minute of it. He drives me crazy while he is eating though. He is way to busy to eat so he latches on and off about a thousand times in twenty minutes! We are still fighting the bottle, he absolutely will not take it and screams bloody murder when I try. He has the cutest smile and laughs. He still loves home more than anywhere else. He is totally a mama's boy, but has been having more fun with his daddy. I can't believe he is almost three months old already. The time has flown by. Mikie is working tons of hours and we miss him, but are greatful for the job security. I am looking forward to Annie and Mike coming to visit in a couple of weeks and I know they are counting the days until they get to meet Trystan. As for me I am still trying to figure out how to get stuff done around the house with the little one. I have just come to the realization that my whole house will never be clean all at once for a very long time! Speaking of which the little one is napping so I probably should go get the rest of the house cleaned but here are some fun, and not so fun pictures!!!!

Not Much Going On

So it has been a couple of weeks since I updated!! There hasn't been a whole lot going on. Mikie and I went to PF Changs for my birthday dinner a couple of weekends ago. It was delicious and I ordered enough food to feed an army. I mean seriously three appetizers and two entrees for two people is a bit excessive!!! But it was so good! Grammy and Grampy watched Trystan for us, so we could have a peaceful dinner. Poor Grammy had to fight with him a little bit to eat. He has gotten so he doesn't like a bottle so well. I guess I am going to have to work on that if I'm going to go back to work in another month or so. At least he gives in when he gets hungry enough. Trystan had his 2 month checkup and weighed 10 pounds 6 ounces. He is getting bigger every minute! He also had three shots... no fun!!! I swear he started screaming before they even stuck him the first time... thats my boy!!!! I still hate shots, I'd much rather be the one giving than receiving. Mikie has been working tons of hours! They had a submittle last friday so he has been burning the candle at both ends. Nap time is still a fight but has gotten a little better, until today apperantly because he is screaming as I am typing. Of course he has been a total grump for the last couple of days, not sure what his deal is, hopefully it will pass soon. When he's not being a grouch he is smiling and talking! Sometimes at night after I have put him to bed he will wake up and lay in his bed and talk to his airplane and fall back to sleep! It is so cute, I love to lay in bed and listen to his cute little noises on the monitor. We also bought him a floor gym and he loves it! The lights flash, it plays music and has lots of different hanging rattles and things for him to kick and swing at. Trystan has decided that he likes to be home better than anywhere else, which can make doing anything away from home a real treat for mom and dad. He has kind of turned into a mommy's boy too. Anyway not to much new around here, but I have new pictures which is what you all visit this page for anyway so here they are!!!

Happy After My Bath!

Not so sure I like to go on walks! I think I want to stay home!!

Road Trip and my 26th Birthday

Trystan got to go on his first big road trip...
My great grandmother passed away a couple of weeks ago ( This picture was taken several years ago of us great grand kids with Granny). She was 95 years old and lived a very full life. We are going to miss her greatly, but I am greatful she got to go exactly like she wanted. She was living on her own and still had her wits about her. She went to the hospital on the 21st of February and discovered she had a perforated bowel. The doctor told her they could do surgery, but her response was my next stop is 53rd street (the cemetery where great grandpa is burried) they made her comfortable and she talked until she was ready to go then closed her eyes and said goodbye! She was an amazing women who never passed judgement on anyone and never complained. Hopefully some of that lives on in her family. We love you granny and will miss you dearly.
We headed up to Salt Lake on Friday for the funeral. We decided to go as far as my dad's house in Richfield on Friday spend the night drive to salt lake on saturday go back to richfield saturday night then home to vegas on Sunday. It is about 4 hours to Richfield from Vegas. Trystan did excellent! He slep all the way to Cedar where we stopped at my grandparents house so I could feed him and introduce him to his great grandparents. Then we got back in the car and he slept the rest of the way to richfield. We were all greatful to get out of the car for the day. Saturday we got up early and headed for Salt Lake again Little man slept the 2.5 hours it took to get there. We stopped by to see Aunt Nanny (Trystan's Great, Great Aunt on mikie's side of the family) then headed to the funeral. Mikie and I decided that we needed to get a Lo Jack to put on our kid because the poor thing was malled to death. After the funeral was over it was back in the car for 2.5 hours back to Richfield, again my fabulous little traveler slept. We went to Dinner Saturday night for my 26th birthday. Mikie and I will be celebrating my birthday this coming weekend since we spent the majority of it in the car. Sunday it was home to Vegas. We left Richfield about 11 o'clock Vegas time and hoped that was early enough to beat the NASCAR race getting out at the speedway on our way into town. We had to stop in St. George to feed Trystan and thank goodness we made it back before the races were over. Trystan slept the whole way home. I was so proud of him. We were home just long enough for me to feed him and we were off to my in-laws for my birthday dinner. Trystan was so done with his carseat and the car. He screamed all the way to Grammy and Grampy's and all the way home, but who can blame him, three days in the car was a little much for all of us. My camera died as soon as I pulled it out in Utah so the only pictures I have were on my phone so they aren't all that great but here is one of Trystan with Great Grandma and Grandpa Blackburn.
The Rest of the pictures are Random pictures from the last couple of weeks. One is of Trystans frist real bath 5 weeks after he was born. His cord finally fell off the kid didn't want to let it go!

This last picture is a fluke. This kid NEVER naps during the day. I have been trying to put him in his bed around the same time every afternoon and just let him cry. The first time he cried for about 20 minutes then slept for 3 hours. The next time he cried for over an hour and never went to sleep today he cried for about 45 minutes and slept for about 45 miniutes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get kids to nap during the day and how to start getting them into a routine. I'm at a loss. HELP!!! LOL
