Attempts at beating the summer heat!!!!

Two weeks ago we took trystan up to Mt. Charleston to go hiking, trying to get out of the lovely 116 degree weather. Poor kid is going stir crazy locked up in the house, but it is way to hot to be outside. We decided a short little hike preferably to water would be best since we have never gone hiking with the little man before. Trystan was not into it. Mikie packed him the whole way. He had no desire to get down and walk or explore, but once we got to the top he was excited. Thank goodness there was a waterfall that had water running. He had a blast playing in the cold water. Stopping for a water BreakTrystan has become rather good at being a human water fountainRefusing to sit with mommy (suddenly he has this huge fear of us leaving him, daddy especially)Life is good I have daddy so we may proceedWawa.... Thank goodness for the little thingsBoys and throwing rocks, I'm not sure I will ever understand it, but the smiles are so worth it. (sorry the kid refused to look at the camera)This little dip in the log was fun to play in....and drink out of (gross)Cute little bum and short little legsStill refusing to sit with mommyCounting to one and gooooooooWatching two girls climb up by the water fallDaddy and buddySo Tired on the way homeI took trystan to the secret garden habitat at the mirage this morning. Thought he might like the dolphins and tigers. This is his new thing though in public be it at the gracery store, target, wherever, to just go sit on the floor or the ground, usually he full on lays down, today he just sat down on the concrete and said "hot" and got up!Standing in front of the Dolphin tankThe white tiger that charged the other white tiger, it was cool to watch them fight and trystan loved it when they growled, sorry not fast enough with the camera to catch the fight.Tiger trying to cool offOh the Dolphin pool. In a split second Trystan managed to grab his sippie cup out of his bag take a big drink, run and throw his sippie cup into the dolphins pool!!!!! Ahhhhhh I was not fast enough to see it coming nor could I stop it. One of the employees saw the whole thing and did not look very happy jumping the wall to retrieve the cup before the dolphins got it. can you say embaressed mommy;) Trysatn of coarse responded by saying ohhhhh and laughing out loud while pointing to the cup that had gone over the ledge around the pool where the trainers stand and acutally into the pool part of the tank itself. All I have to say is thank goodness it floats!!!!

The kid has an arm, cause the cup made it over the wall right to where those two dolphins are perched!!!! (good times)

Up Mom!

So my absolutely adorable handsome little man has quite the temper as I have pointed out before. But lately he has become rather aggressive when he gets upset! The first thing he does when he gets mad is goes into the living room and finds something to throw. I have debated about what I should do, and decided that the punishment needed to fit the crime. So when a toy gets thrown in anger, the toy gets taken away! Pretty simple right. We did this for a couple of weeks then I began to wonder if maybe Trystan was a little to young to grasp the concept of I was naughty with that toy so now its mommy's and I don't get to play with it. A couple of nights ago Trystan got really upset because Mikie and I told him no more movies for the night (the kid loves to watch movies) so he promptly walked over to "chuck" his talking dump truck picked it up and chucked it across the room. I instantly snapped Trystan's name, he walked over to his truck picked it up and carried it to the wash room (this is where all of the toys have gone that I have taken away) and said up mom and handed me the truck he had thrown!!!!

What do you get when you let a 1 year old help Mop the Kitchen Floor???

A wading pool!!!!!! but it was so worth cleaning up the mess because he had a Blast! My cupboards got cleaned and so did the front of the oven.

After I got this mess cleaned up I walked in Trystan's room to this mess! Trystan was in his room squealing throwing every single book he has off of his bookshelf and onto the floor!

High-lights of Our Busy Life!!!

My sweet boy is getting so big!! We have had a lot going on lately. The end of April Trystan and I went on a mini vacation to visit my family in Richfield. The day we left the weather was beautiful until we hit Cedar, then it started snowing. Between Bever and I-70 it was a blizzard and I could not see 200 feet in front of me. It was a little scary, but we made it all in one piece and Trystan did so good. I was a little worried how he would travel with just the two of us. He talked to me all the way from Cedar to Richfield. It was freezing the whole time we were there but Trystan had a blast playing with his Aunts. I enjoyed hanging out with my family and got some serious scrapbooking done while I was there... I am so behind. Trystan loves Nintendo DS, loved playing the piano and did not dig sleddingTrystan has Grandpa K wrapped around his little finger and all he had to do was point and Grandpa would take him outside. There is no where else this kid would rather be than outside playing. Grandpa let him play in his truck and jeep... We are still having a hard time convincing him that we don't go play in mom and dad's car and truck:)Grandma Sam got Trystan ready for bed one night while we were there. She is a little out of practice. The onsie got done up over his pants... so we called them his Super hero suite. LOL Trystan HATED sledding. It was really cold. The wind was blowing and it was snowing. All he wanted to do was go back to the car. He would point in the direction of the car and say go, go!My dad helped me turn Trystan's Car seat around so he could face forward before we left the house. Trystan Loves being able to see. He just chilled all the way home. I also discovered on the way home that I really need to start watching what I say as I am driving!!!! Trystan has become quite the little backseat driver and hollars at the other cars and tells them to go, go, goooooo;)
While we were gone daddy was here working his butt off both at work and at home. He and his dad ripped out our whole backyard. Our Big trees are gone, the rock the grass and patio. Trystan has had so much fun helping daddy in the back yard getting it ready to redo so Trystan can play outside!!!!Mikie and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on May 8th. We went out to dinner and were going to go to a movie, but just before we left the house to take little man to Niccoles he spiked a fever of 101.7 It had only been two weeks since he ran a fever of 103+ for four days. So we went out for a fabulous dinner and went to pick up the baby. When we got back to Niccole's Trystan's fever was 103. We did high fevers for two more days. I think this time it was his freaking Molars he got three of them at the same time... poor baby. There was no other reason for the fever. The day after our Anniversary was Mother's day. I spent most of the day rockabying with trystan and timing motrin and Tylenol around the clock. We did go to Mikie's mom and dad's for a fabulous dinner and Trystan ran around with his ky-ky like a mad man, you'd never know his fever was as high as it was.The following week Niccole Graduated from Nursing School. I am so proud of her!!!! Nursing school is no easy task and she came through with flying colors being a full time employee, wife, mother, daughter and sister!!!! Trystan has become quite the Mommy's boy lately and walks around the house saying mama, mama, mama, especially when I am at work or not around. He loves going to gramy's and papa's on the days that I work and loves Auntie picking him up from Wyndee's most days...especially if she will give him her keys:)Our little man is suddenly so big, He is talking so much, and running full tilt, he undresses himself which is not always convinient, is trying to put on his own shoes and loves to help daddy and I around the house. He is starting to freak out when I put him to bed... I am a litte sad about that he has always gone to bed so well, but I am loving that he wants to snuggle a little more. He has learned to open all the doors at grammy's house time to baby proof the doors at home too! Because we have the same doorknobs, though at least for today he is not opening the doors at our house. Mikie and I are enjoying being parents more and more every day... If we could just win the lottery we would both became stay at home mom and dad!!!!

Mommy and Me Day!

I love my days off with my little man!!!! Mikie has had to work the last few fridays which stinks...Trystan and I miss him, but none the less enjoy the days together. This morning we got up and after breakfast cleaned the living room, Trystan is my big helper and did the dusting for me!!! He helped me vacuum his room and played with his toys that I moved into the kitchen so I could do the living room floor. He went down for his morning nap and I cleaned the kitchen and showered. After morning nap the two of us went on a lunch date to port-a-subs then it was off to the park. It was a beautiful 80 degrees outside. We pulled up to the park and I noticed the splash pad was up and running. I thought about running home to get little man's swim trunks, but it was too late. Trystan had already spotted the water and was squealing to get out of the car and go, go, go!!! Sooo, it was off to splash in the water fully clothed socks shoes and all. Trystan had a blast!!! I bought him a bunch of new clothes recently for the summer and the shorts are a little big around the waste. The water weighed them down and he lost his shorts, I had to roll them up at the waist to keep them on. We played for about an hour, trystan was shivering so it was time to go, I stripped him down at the car, put a dry diaper on him and brought him home. What a fantastic day... Only could have been better if daddy was home!
